Now supporting VoiceMonkey audio entries.

While GeoBlogging last night I ran across a post about the VoiceMonkey service for adding audioblogs to your Web site using a phone! Although there is a toll free number available, mobile phone users with unlimited long distance should be inclined to use the toll number to save the developer some cash.

The service is currently being run as a free beta but will eventually cost “under $10 per month”. Audioblogs are saved in 24Kbps MP3 format with no ID tags at the moment, but I’ve submitted a feature request to add ID tags to MP3s as they’re generated. Who knows whether this feature will be implemented.

Just for gits and shiggles, I recorded my first audio entry to fulfill the “recording something within seven days or your account gets deleted” requirement. The quality is adequate and I’m highly impressed! I have a feeling I’ll be using this service extensively while stuck in traffic or braindumping to myself so I don’t forget something rather important.
