  • Diving back into induction…

I took advantage of a trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario to experiment with a temporary massive change in diet. For approximately one week I went back to my old ways of eating anything I wanted, when I wanted. Luckily, it seems that I can no longer stomach a lot of the nasty things I used to love (potato chips, french fries, etc.) and I finally have an operational Eat Watch! Even after reverting to my old eating habits I found myself not finishing dishes when I got full instead of cleaning my plate out of principle.

My all time low weight so far 222.4 pounds in mid-September while I was at 226.4 after getting back from Niagara Falls. Comparing that to my body fat percentage shows that I’ve only gained a pound or two while the rest is garbage still floating around the system that I haven’t, well, gotten rid of yet. So, when I finally move from weight loss mode to lifetime maintenance mode, I’ll need to continue to chart my weight to make sure I don’t start an upward trend.

So, it looks like I’ll need to back into hardcore induction starting today to kick my body back into weight loss mode.

  • The interior is almost back in the car…

Andrew and I drove up to Hatch Manufacturing in Groton, VT last night to pick up the last bits of my interior. Although we couldn’t get any welding done on the car the headliner and door panels are now mostly back in. That just leaves the rear seat and some finishing touches on the trim before the Essex Junction rallycross on Sunday. The headliner was the most amusing part and we managed to stuff it up between the cage and the roof…still no idea how that happened. Something about bending spacetime and unfolding the car and the cage around the headliner.

  • Easy enough to remember?

You’d think that apt.freshrpms.net would be easy enough to remember whenever I need to install Apt on a new RedHat Linux box. But no…it always takes me 20 minutes to dig through bookmarks and find it. Now all I have to do is remember that I blogged about it and search for it on my own site.

    Right. Like that’ll happen.

  • The DMS50s showed up…

We finally have suspension for the car. After sitting for two weeks in customs the DMS50s have finally made their way to our garage. Initial paranoia set in because the struts were rattling and oozing red goo but it turns out that that’s perfectly normal. The rattle is the foam bumpstop inside the strut and the goo is just the seal lubricant. No worries, no big deal. We’re on schedule to do the install on Saturday.

  • Embarrassing? Well…it depends…

Each of the ground floor offices at work is a half basement. When inside, the grass is right at chest level and there is an overhang just inside the window where cubicle dwellers store their toys. One unfortunate soul left a box of their Depend undergarments sitting on the shelf proudly displayed for the entire parking lot to see. And, if that wasn’t bad enough, not only was the box open but they were falling out. Hrm…
