  • clay kitties

i had a dream about clay kitties last night . we didn ‘ t have enough kitties running around the house , so i made some out of clay . then i had to build a garage to keep them in because they were leaving stains all over the rug . the garage would have taken up too much space , but i built it on the dead part of the lawn out back with all the rocks . the kitties liked the garage , but not as much as the house . we felt bad about having to keep the clay kitties out in the garage , but that ‘ s just how it goes sometimes . then one of the kitties got out of the garage and ran around . it wasn ‘ t clay anymore . it was a real kitty but it was blue . the other clay kitties were still brown and clay and didn ‘ t like the new blue real kitty . they were jealous . they wanted to be blue , too . so the rest of the clay kitties went running around looking for blue things . they romped through kelly ‘ s flower garden and ate all the blue flowers , but that just turned them green . now the blue kitty wanted to be green but there were no blue flowers left so the real blue kitty was sad . sad real blue kitties aren ‘ t much fun so i tried to cheer him up . i gave him a big hug but that just made my arms blue . so i took all the kitties and rubbed them all together . now i had blue and green happy clay kitties and a blue and green happy real kitty .

  • My own private ISP

Setting up your own Internet service provider can sometimes be the only way to get satisfactory Internet access options. In case you should want to give it a try, here’s a case study: my own experience.

  • Network revamp: Linux with Windows

More and more corporations and small businesses are taking the Linux plunge these days, and for good reason. The low cost of Linux combined with an abundance of geeks who eat, sleep, and breathe UNIX has created a win-win situation for IT managers and geeks alike. Since it’s usually a younger junior systems administrator or “that kid from the design group who knows a lot about computers” who introduces Linux into the workplace, there’s already someone in-house to move into a full-time systems administration position with no training required.

  • Sensory perception…

It’s odd. I’ve always had the ability to sense my surroundings. I have no idea why or how, but I always seem to know when there are people around me or when someone is focusing their attention on me. If there is someone sitting across the room that glances up at me, my attention is almost instantly directed to them and I glance up, meeting their eyes.

  • How to configure UNIX PINE for use with PGP

The concept for configuring PINE for use with PGP is simple. Newer versions of PINE allow external scripts, or filters, to be called when viewing or sending messages. By taking advantage of this, filters can be installed to automatically sign, encrypt, decrypt and check the signatures of both outgoing and incoming PGP-enhanced messages with minimal user interaction.

  • I am a true geek.

For a while, Netscape had an LED sign in one of their cubicle farms to allow visitors to push random quotes to the developers. In a display of my geekdom, I pushed this over to email to my girlfriend. It must have worked…she married me.

  • !!! MAKE PASSWORDS FAST !!!

This January, 1995 my family and I had accounts at sites all over the world. I am currently a Systems Administrator of my own site on the West Coast of Florida with a private spool, T3 connection, and a beautiful JPEG of the bay. I will never have to crack again, and anyone can do the same!

  • The “Me Too” FAQ

This FAQ is designed to educate, and hopefully change, the ways of certain contributors on various USENET newsgroups. These contributors add nothing of substantial content to USENET, and simply waste bandwidth with their ramblings. These contributors are “Me Too” message posters, and must be destroyed, be it by force or simple reasoning and communication.

  • Sean Hamor – Progress Report

    Kindergarten Teacher: Wendy Jill Delisle

    Social

Sean feels extremely comfortable and at ease in school. He has a good rapport with the teachers. He plays well with the other children yet if he becomes involved with building and someone takes his materials or knocks it down, he will become very mad. At times, he will either scream, cry or even hit. Once he is spoken to, he settles down.

He usually shares well but again if he becomes very involved with something he can become very possessive. He plays quite well independently but also enjoys the company of others. His speech and vocabulary is superior He completely dresses himself.

    Work Habits

Sean listens and follows directions very well. He needs to be pushed to do an art project. I don’t always try to have Sean do this type of work yet at times, I try my best to really encourage him. He always does work papers and usually does a good job. At times, he will hurry to finish his work which can create sloppy cutting and poor coloring yet once he is asked to do his best, he does a good job.

Sean’s attention span is good. He is a good participator in group situations yet he is not crazy over singing songs. Sean enjoys most anything in the room but he is crazy over making ships. Boats and building from the free form posts.

    Academic

    • Recognizers all his colors.
    • Knows his shapes, circle, square, triangle.
    • Can draw shapes.
    • Can write name in full.
    • Can count to ten.
    • Can recognize numbers to ten.
    • Can count numbers one, four, six, seven, eight, ten.
    • Can say alphabet.
    • Can do one to one correspondence.
    • Can do sequencing, sorting and classifying.
    • Superb problem solving.
    • Handles scissors well – most always.
    • Handles paste, glue, crayons and paint well – decided against using a stick to paste with.

Sean is a nice boy. He is very quick and very bright. He has a true desire to learn! He should have much success in kindergarten.
